The duration of coaching depends on the client’s needs and goals. Because change takes time, it is recommended that a client commit to an initial three-months of weekly coaching. For many adults, a three to six month commitment of weekly coaching will allow them time to achieve their goals and create a lasting foundation for continued success.
Therapy often focuses on healing pain, dysfunction and relationship conflict arising from situations in the past. The focus is on resolving these past difficulties to improve overall psychological functioning in the present. Coaching is focused on identifying what the client wants in the here and nowand how to achieve those goals. Coaching is future focused.
Coaching is designed to take you from where you are today to where you want to be. A coach helps you to set specific goals, explore possibilities, remove obstacles and reach your desired outcome. Coaching can help you expand your awareness of what is possible and move you into the action needed to reach your desired objectives. Through conversation and support, a coach will act as a sounding board, educator, motivator and accountability partner to support you in making lasting change in your life.
